Just a reminder: on Sunday, August 17 at Salida’s independent bookstore, The Book Haven, from 5:30 to 7:30, I’ll be hosting Voice’s book launch party. If you’re in Chaffee County or environs, you’re certainly invited, but you need to email me if you will be coming as we need to know how many there will be. [doann.houghton@gmail.com] This will be a party and book signing, but there will be entertainment too. If you’re somewhere else, consider buying a copy of Voice of a Voyage and toasting the essential element for hard-working authors, YOU, their readers!
I have a request. Anyone who reads Voice of a Voyage: Rediscovering the World During a Ten-year Circumnavigation, no matter where you purchased it (and, hopefully, it was from an independent bookstore), please consider writing a short reader’s review on Amazon. It doesn’t matter where you purchased it to write a review. Click here to review my book on Amazon.
This first photo is of the third highest peak in the Himalayas and one climbed by many of the attendees to my talk in New Delhi.
The Himalayan Club poster for my presentation
My talk for the Himalayan Club in New Delhi on July 17 was very successful. Even though the start of the rainy monsoon was two days late (according to Mrs. Kohli, it usually starts on July 15), this year it started on July 17! Nevertheless, it was well attended and I had an interested audience with many questions and two articles in New Delhi ezines.
