TRAVEL – NORWAY – Northern Lights and Trollfjord

Trollfjord is a tiny, narrow, short fjord with steep sides. Entering at night with just the ship’s spotlight showing the way, one can easily imagine the trolls, as all of a sudden there are rock walls you can almost touch from the upper open decks. If the ship has been, more or less, on time and the conditions are right some ship captains enjoy taking their passengers in to hear their gasps at the captain’s seemingly effortless maneuvering. It had been cloudy, but just as we approached the entrance, the sky opened up and a million stars came into view and an exquisite display of Northern Lights. For now, just enjoy the photos. There will be plenty of time for explanations, more on the Arctic Circle, and, I have not forgotten, dehumanization language. But now it’s focusing on a natural solar phenomena. The last 2 super-dramatic ones were taken by another person.
